| Meet Sabina Altynbekova the woman who has been labelled, 'too hot for volleyball.' Sabina, 18, was unknown in the media world but after competing for Kazakhstan in the Asian Under-19 Championships she has developed an avid following. And not for the reasons she would like. The athlete has been getting so much attention for her looks, from fans and media alike, that she has asked her new following to stop posting about her on social media. Sabina said, 'I was flattered at first but it's all getting a little bit much. I want to concentrate on playing volleyball and to be famous for that, not anything else.' Her coach has echoed her sentiments saying that the constant emphasis on her looks have made it 'impossible' for her to work. Her teammates were also rumoured to be a bit miffed at the focus on Sabina. Her coach added 'the crowd behaves like there is only one player at the championship.' Let's face it, it's not the first time fans have gone wild for an athlete *cough* David Beckham *cough* but the issue lies with the fact that fetishising women in sport is still very much a 'thing'. From the oodles of media coverage she has received Sabina's sporting achievements are barely mentioned. We aren't saying that fans can't fancy their female sporting idols but, like the Beckham's of the world, we just want both ability AND attractiveness covered in equal measure. Is that too much to ask? |

| AND ANOTHER THING... |
 |
 | | | Today marks a very special day in the beauty calendar. Happy National Lipstick Day one and all! Although hundreds of lipsticks cross our desk every day, these are the top 5 that, in our opinion, no make-up bag should be without. From the ultimate red to the prettiest pink, we highly advise that you keep these beauties close to hand at all times… Dior Rouge Dior in 999, £26: As the first shade of lipstick to be created by Christian Dior himself, this punchy red is a true classic. MAC Lipstick in Angel, £15.50: Although we love every single one of MAC's legendary lipsticks, this pale pink shade never fails to please. With buildable colour and an uber-creamy texture, this is the prettiest of pinks, guaranteed to add a real pop of colour to your complexion. Paul & Joe Lipstick, £12.50: Perfect for the lipstick-shy (and more like a tinted balm), these super-sheer beauties deliver the perfect amount of glossy colour as well as a generous hit of hydration. Tom Ford Lip Colour in True Coral, £37: This stunning coral hue will not only show off your tan but the gorgeous packaging makes this beauty splurge worth every penny. Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick in 001, £5.49: If it's good enough for Kate, it's good enough for us. Plus, with plenty of change from a tenner, what's not to love? | | | - Tor Cardona, Beauty and Web Coordinator | | |
