| In the week when Lena Denham argued there's a woeful lack of Hollywood opportunities for her female co-stars - in stark contrast to the show's Adam Driver who has been offered roles in Cohen brothers and Stephen Spielberg films – it's refreshing to see there's one area in which we're totally ruling the roost: social media. Yep, in the very same week that the internet celebrated its 25th birthday, figures compiled by Finances Online reveal what we already knew – that we're officially amazing at The Internet. Take a look at the numbers: Pinterest is used by 33 per cent of online women compared with just 8 per cent of men, 76 per cent of women online are Facebookers while the figure for men is 66 per cent – and we're leading the charge on Twitter and Instagram, too. The only site we're behind on is LinkedIn, which is used by almost a fifth of women online and a quarter of men. And whoever looked forward to a LinkedIn status update anyway? Frankly, we're not surprised by the Girl Power takeover of social media. Our Twitter feeds are ALWAYS full of funny, intelligent and inspiring tweets from women whether it's Ellen DeGeneres posting a hilarious snap of herself posing with a tiger and Tippi Hedren (as you do) or Labour MP Stella Creasy's championing of women's causes. While over on Instagram, we can't get enough of the glimpses into Beyonce's fabulous life or check out the interiors of Peaches Geldof's new gaff. It seems that social media is one of the few places where women are uncensored, where we don't have to conform and where we can truly make our voices heard and our opinions count. Now that's contributing to billion-dollar profits for digital businesses - maybe Hollywood will catch up soon. |

| AND ANOTHER THING... |
 |
 | | Having access to your friend's or sister's wardrobe is a great thing as Kim Kardashian discovered this week when she Instagrammed herself from Miami wearing little sister Kylie Jenner's cut-out bikini. However, clothes sharing can be an etiquette minefield – even more so when it's among mates. So check our definitive guide to the fail safe rules of the 'friendrobe'…
1. DON'T, under any circumstances, look better in the outfit than your mate does.
2. DO avoid red wine, spaghetti bolognaise and four-month-old babies, especially when wearing white and/or silk. Unless you want a big row and an even bigger dry cleaning bill on your hands.
3. DO ask permission first – she'll only see the evidence that you wore her favourite dress when you're photo tagged on Facebook.
4. DON'T even think about investing in a copycat outfit. It was fine to wear matching Bart Simpson tracksuits when you and your sister were five years old – not fine when you're 35.
5. DO remember that borrowing your boyfriend's clothes operates under an entirely different rule-set. You're allowed to pilfer his jeans, jumpers, boxers and shirts at any time - and you're allowed to look way more stylish in them.
